He's still on the line... This came up in my FB memories a few weeks back. Some years ago on vacation my family went to Mass at the local Catholic Church on Sunday morning. At the end of Mass, as is typical, Father made a few announcements. The announcements were as follows: 1. Thank you for your patience with the parking lot not having the space lines. We got it repaved and will get the lines painted soon. Thanks for organizing your cars out there and not having any road rage (everyone politely chuckled at this point.) 2. We have visitors from the Diocese of Wichita in the parish this week, and they will be doing children's program sessions each evening this week. Families are encouraged to come and participate. Well at that point I leaned over to my 2 oldest kids who were ages 10 and 13 at that point and said, "I bet they'll also be taking care of striping the parking lot." Both of them politely held in a laugh. My kids know their Jimmy Webb songs very well. For those who don't get the reference... >!In the late 60's there was a hugely popular song called Wichita Lineman...obviously about a telephone utility worker...but the dad joke is the play on people from Wichita coming to paint lines in the parking lot.!<
