Daughter figures out dad humor early (Humorous story, not a dad joke per-se) My daughter and I used to watch Speed Racer (cartoon and movie) together. She was 3. When I would drive her places I would tell her that I was Speed Racer. My wife, daughter and I were driving to my parents, and I started telling her the usual, "I'm Speed Racer. The Mach 5 is buried in our basement. If you ever get into trouble, go down there. It will take you to safety." From the front seat (she was strapped into her child seat directly behind me) I hear her hand slap her head and a whisper, "Why do I have to have such a stupid daddy?" I asked her to repeat it, but she wouldn't until I quoted her directly. Then she admitted she said it. It was a moment of both loss and pride for me. My wife and I laughed hysterically.
