Today's featured daily humor:

Outside Ancient Rome, there was a village that had fallen on hard times. The livestock was dying, there was not enough water, and the villagers were very poor. So when an old woman's acai tree one day produced an enormous fruit, larger than a man's head, it was taken as a blessing from the gods. As word of the miracle spread, people came to see for themselves. Soon travelers from all over the Roman Empire were lining up to see the giant fruit, pay respect to their gods, and make donations to the village. The villagers finally knew comfort and prosperity that they had only dreamed of. But then the emperor learned of this, and sent hundreds of soldiers to capture the village. Of course the villagers were no match for the emperor's army, and the village was soon overrun. In all of the fighting, nobody had time to warn the old woman that centurions would soon be taking her precious acai with them. When the army arrived at the old woman's garden, she asked if they would like to make a donation before seeing the acai. The commander just laughed and said "Don't be a fool. I've come to seize your berry, not to praise it."
